Abstract: DEMO will be the biggest fusion reactor ever built. A deuterium-tritium injector with high reliability and large mass flow is required to feed this gargantuan machine. The injector will launch cryogenic pellets to replenish the DT fuel over long pulses and years of operation. The talk will present critical design issues, a technology analysis, the best choice candidates. Focus will be made on dimensioning the extruder - the component where DT pellets are produced – for optimal performance.
